Aligned Fitness Classes

aligned fitnessAligned Fitness classes are all about returning our bodies to their design and intent:

  • restoring spinal fluidity
  • deepening relaxation of mind and musculature
  • releasing movement
  • shifting internal weight
  • discovering balance
  • deepening breath

We use Iyengar yoga wall ropes, yoga blocks, yoga belts, foam rollers, bands, and various size balls to explore our body’s bone structure, to unlock joints, stimulate nerves, support the spinal curves, and move the body as a whole unit.

Exercises for feet and pelvic floor are emphasized as they are foundational for whole body support and spinal health.

Learn how to:

  • lift the whole spine, and then anchor the sacrum
  • energize the core and engage the whole body in movement
  • move in three dimensions, rather than linear, repetitive movement which can damage joint health
  • diaphragmatically breathe and whole body breathe
  • use the mind to increase circulation and cultivate internal energy and power

Each class is a whole-body workout and requires focus and attention. Working from the inside out demands effort. But what’s amazing is that despite age or physical condition, change happens, and results are noticeable very quickly.
